he largest internal organ of the body is liver. Liver plays a key role in the process of digestion. Liver is involved in many important functions in the body like filtration of blood from intestines and removal of toxins from the body.
When the healthy cells present in the liver changes and grow uncontrollably, forming a mass is called liver tumour or liver cancer or Hepatocellular carcinoma. Tumours which are found in other organs like kidney cancer which spread to liver are not referred to as liver cancer.
This kind of tumours which started in another part of the body and spread to liver is called as metastatic cancer of another organ. Benign liver cancers are also reported in few cases. Benign liver tumours do not spread to any other organ.
