As a part of the digestive system, our pancreas is found in the abdominal cavity, just right behind our stomach. The main role of the pancreas is to produce hormones, such as glucagon, somatostatin, polypeptides, and insulin. Additionally, the enzymes that come from the pancreas neutralize the acid in the stomach, which therefore provides protection for the intestines.
