An Introduction to Vaginal Discharge
Vaginal discharge, at times is a totally normal thing. It’s a healthy way for your body to get rid of fluid and old cells in your vagina. If it’s clear and watery, yellow, or white, doesn’t have chunks in it, doesn’t smell bad and isn’t accompanied by itching or burning, it’s probably nothing to worry about it.
However, there are some times when you’ll want to check in with your doctor about your discharge issues:
- It’s not clear or white (Green discharge is always a bad sign, and black discharge can a sign of a serious problem)
- It has chunks in it (often a sign of a yeast infection)
- The discharge is accompanied by itching or burning
- It smells bad
- It happens every day
