Anal Cancer – What It Is, Causes, Symptoms, Treatment

The  Anal Cancer,  or anus cancer is the region that controls stool output, located at the end of the large intestine and connects the intestine to the outside of the body . In Anal Cancer , changes in this region cause your cells to grow uncontrollably, resulting in malignant behavior.

The Anal Cancer is rare. A malignant anal tumor may occur on the outside of the anus (most common in females) or on the inside of the anal canal (higher incidence in males).

What is Anal Cancer:

Anal canal tumors are rare, accounting for only 2% of tumors affecting the digestive tract. It is more common in women and has a peak incidence above 50 years of age. It usually has a good prognosis.

The main histological type is squamous cell carcinoma (85%), and other types may arise such as adenocarcinoma,  Bowen’s disease , melanoma, lymphomas and  anal margin skin carcinomas .
